  Cutaneous Sporotrichosis - A Clinicopathological Study of 31 Cases.

Thirty-one cases of cutaneous sporotrichosis observed from December, 1976 to March, 1983 at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital are reported. The diagnosis was established by positive culture and/or histological observation of spores or asteroid bodies. The group consisted of 24 females and 7 males. Ketoconazole is an imidazole derivative that may fill the need for a safe,orally effectve,broad spectrum antifungal agent. A 55 years old male noted an erythematous nodule on the glans about half a year ago. This erythematous nodule was slightly tender without itching. Brownish depressed scar on the nodule was developed. This is a case of actinomycetoma caused by Nocardia asteroides. During seven months, the patient was successively treated with trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole combining streptomycin, dapsone,erythromycin combining sulfamethoxazole, and a new imidazole compound,Bay n7133. Angioimmunoblastic lymphadenopathy is an uncommon disease, though by no mean rare. Two young men had numerous symptomless reddish brown and slightly elevated papules over the penil shaft.
