  Secondary Localized Cutaneous Amyloidosis Associated with Porokeratosis-Clinical and Electron Microscopical Studies-

Twenty five patients with porokeratosis were seen at our departement druing the past 12 years. Amyloid deposits were found in the biopsy of skin lesion in 12 patients (48%). The clinical features of these patients and the severity of pathological changes were not relevant to the existence of amyloid. The amyloid deposits were limited in the papillary dermis of marginal and cen-tral parts of the skin lesion.   A Comparison of Two Therapeutic Methods in the Treatment of Psoriasis and Review of Literatures

The etilogy of psoriasis is still unknown and the methods of treatment are many. Clinicians have been putting efforts in seeking a more effective, simpler and low cost method of treatment for psoriasis. The present study included thirty patients with psoriasis vulgaris who were divided into two equal groups. Group I was given UVB radiation in addition to 0.3% dithranol ointment alone. A 30-year-old woman had developeda bruiselike golden brown discolora-tion on her left calf for seven years. The skin lesion had an abrupt onset, asymptomatic and had not changed substantially throughout its course.   Pityriasis Circinata (Toyama)

We report a young unmarried female with the diagnosis of pityriasis circinata. Dermatoligical examination revealed brownish scaly circular patches over the trunk and four limbs. Throughout a series of physical and laboratory examination, only transient high values of SGOT and SGPT from the liver function tests were found. Classic acrodermatitis enteropathica (AE) is a genetic disease characterized by alopecia, diarrhea, and an eczematous skin eruption involving the natural opening of the body and distal extremities. Tuberculosis verrucosa curis is the commonest form of skin tuberculosis in Taiwan. It is characterized by indolent, warty, hyperkeratotic, plaque-like form of trberculosis. It is very slow growing and centre may heal leaving an atrophic scar, Common sites affected are the exposed parts such as the buttocks, thighs, knees and elbowas due to sitting and playing in contaminated streets.   Therapeutic Effect of Etretinate on Keratinizing Disorders of Skin

In recent years, there are many papers dealing with using Etretinate(one vitamin A acid derivative) to treat many skin keratinizing disorders. But, we have little experience about this new drug in Taiwan, republic of china.
