  A Clinical Trial of 3% Diazoxide Solution for Androgenetic Alopecia

An open clinical trial of 3% Dizoxide solution was performed for androgenetic alopecia during the last 18 months. Of the total 20 cases, 11 cases (55%) had either moderate or dense hair regrowth after application varying from 3 to 11 months but 7 cases (35%) failed to show any progress after the treatment. Neither systemic cardiovascular side effects nor significant changes of blood pressure were found during the whole period of study. A 32-year-old single male has suffered from persistent widespread erythematous papules, vescles and bullae over trunk and extreemities since birth. Sever itching was found before the eruption of lesions. Mycosis fungodes is a rare type of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma in Taiwan, China. We herein report a 71-year-old man affected by nummerous erythematous, scaly plaqus over abdomen. Physical examination revealed no lymphadenopathy or hepatosplenomegaly. The cutaneous T lymphocytes reacted with Leu-1, Leu-3 and Leu-4 monoclonal antibodies. A 69 years old female was admitted for suffering from severe pain and tender swelling of left knee about 8 hours before admission. She was treated as cellulltis with appropriate broad spectrum antibiotics, but her disase deteriorated rapidly with extension to the whole thigh within the next 27 hours, and septic shock was also experienced. A 29-year-old female suffered from systemic lupus erythematosus with vesiculobullous eruptions was reported. The vesiculobullous lesions were widespread with a predilection for the face, neck, trunk and upper extremities. Histopathological examination of the vesicular lesions disclosed papillary microabscesses of neutrophils and subepideermal bilster formation. Herpes gestationis, a rare autoimmune cutaneous disase, occurs during pregnancy and after delivery. We report such a case of 30 year-old with the 4th pregnancy. At the 7 th month of her pregnancy, she developed intensely pruritic erythematous patches, vesicles and bullae around the umbilicus and then gradually spread to the abdomen, trunk and four limbs. A 5-day-old female baby manifested by two peanut sized, brownish -colored, firm nodules presenting on left thigh. Darier's sign is positive. Histopathologic examination reveals many cuboidal-shaped mast cells lying closely packed in the upper dermis. Metachromatic granules in cytoplasma by toluidine blue stain are noted.
