  Extramammary Paget's Disease of Male External Genitalia - A Study of 16 Cases and Its Relationship to Extracutaneous Malignancy -

We collected 16 cases of patients with extramammary Paget's disease (EMPD) of male external genitalia during 1977 to 1992 from the Cancer Registry, Office of Medical Record, National Taiwan University Hospital. The age ranged from 59 to 84 years, with a mean of 66.9 years. Average duration between onset of disease and diagnosis is 4.4 years. We studied one hundred and three patients with biopsy-proved squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the skin (including the external genital organs) between 1984 and 1992 at our hospital. Tumors developed in the skin of the head, face and genital area more frequently than in the trunk and extremities. We also found that 43% of our patients later metastasized. A 64-year-old male noted a dark red plaque with a painful superimposed ulcer over left shin for 5 months. The histiopathological features fitted the diagnosis of the lipomatous variant of eccrine angiomatous hamartoma including proliferation of mature eccrine structure, ectopic mature fat cells and angiomatous capillary channels within the dermis. We report a case of eczema herpeticum complicating contact dermatitis. A 35-year-old female had suffered from painful erythematous swelling with desquamation on the face and neck after applying some herbs powder for acne.   Sweet's Syndrome Occurring in a Patient of NPC During Remission - A Case Report -

We herein report a rare association of Sweet's syndrome occurring in a patient with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. A 57-year-old woman of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in remission stage suffered an abrupt onset of painful erythematous plaques studded with pustules on the neck. Leukocytosis and marked elevation of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate were found. Histological examination revealed a dense neutrophilic infiltrate in the upper dermis.
