Intradermal Nodular Fasciitis: A Case Report
Po-Hsuan Lu, Yang-Chih Lin, Yu-Hung Wu
Dermatol Sinica 23:212-216,2005

ABSTRACT Nodular fasciitis is a reactive myofibroblastic proliferative lesion frequently misdiagnosed as a sarcoma. Most lesions are located in the subcutaneous tissue of the upper extremities1. Rarely, intravascular, intradermal, and cranial variants have been described. Intradermal nodular fasciitis, first reported by Goodlad and Fletcher in 1990, may be confused with fibrohistiocytic tumors because of the unexpected location. A 32-year-old male had a rapidly growing tender nodule in the occ ..................More

Dermatol Sinica 23:217-221,2005

Abstract Piezogenic pedal papules are skin-colored lesions on the heels caused by herniation of fat through the connective stroma. They are induced by weight bearing or pressure to the soles. We report a case of a 51-year-old female who had multiple painful skin-colored papules on the medial and lateral aspects of the left heel when applying force on it. Microscopically, the collagen bundles of the trabeculae around the fat lobules were looser than normal. Verhoeff-Van Gieson stain revealed a r ..................More

Telangiectasia macularis eruptiva perstans (TMEP) is a rare form of cutaneous mastocytosis characterized by erythematous macules consisting of fine telangiectasia with little tendency to urticate or cause constitutional symptoms. It generally has a good prognosis. We report a 56-year-old man with liver cirrhosis and hepatoma who had a 2-year history of asymptomatic erythematous macules initially developing on bilateral arms. The macules spread to the upper trunk and bilateral forearms gradual ..................More
