Dermatol Sinica 4: 1-6, 1986

Seven cases of chondroid syringoma of the skin collected from 1983 to 1985 are reported. The patients ranged from 26 to 58 years of age and 4 of them were male. They presented as asymptomatic solitary dermal or subcutaneous nodule. The sites of predilection were the nose (4 cases) and the chin (2 cases); one unusual case occurred on the foot. The tumors were well circumscribed and composed of epithelial cells forming solid nests or glandular structures in a chondroid or myxoid stroma. Squamous metaplasia was occasionally observed. Except one case with 3 recurrences, the others did not recur. A complete surgical excision is usually adequate.
