Dermatol Sinica 4: 25-28, 1986

A 79-year-old female found two blackish bean-sized solitary papules on her scalp in October 1984. Despite excision of the lesions, multiple violaceous papules and nodules recurred on and around the primary lesions and preauricular areas. The histopathologic study showed diffuse infiltrate of the dermis and subcutaneous fat by neoplastic cuboidal and spindle-shaped cells. These atypical cells were characterized by hyperchromasia and nuclear pleomorphism. It showed the tendency of anastomosing to form vascular channels. The lesions grew and spreaded rapidly. In spite of radiotherapy, the patient died of lung metastasis in 10 months.
