Kasabach-Merritt Syndrome, also known as hemangioma-hemorrhage syn-drome, is a giant hemangioma associated with decreased level of circulating platelets and clotting factors similar to that of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). Here we present a 5 month-old male baby with a large hemangioma on the right side of his chest, who developed superficial ecchymoses over the enlarging hemangioma, thrombocytopenia and consumption coagulopathy after punch biopsy of the hemangioma, and the syndrome was successfully treated with oral corticosteroid.
