Dermatol Sinica 9: 55-60, 1991

Two cases of acral acanthosis nigricans are reported. Velvety hyperpigmented plaques distributed symmetrically on the dorsa fo hands and feet, and flexor aspects of wrists. Skin biopsy revealed marked epidermal hyperkeratosis, moderate acanthosis and papillomatosis. The patients were not associated with obesity, endocrine disorders or underlying malignancy. Whitening of the pigmented lesions while perspiration, and seasonal changing with summer exacerbation are characteristics of these two cases, which were not mentioned before.
