Dermatol Sinica 13: 177-185, 1995

A 29-year-old female noticed a deep purpuric papule on the inner side of her forearm since her childhood. An ecchymotic ring developd around the papule recently. A biopsy specimen from the central papule showed features consistent with targetoid hemosiderotic hemagioma. Targetoid hemosiderotic hemangioma is a rare benign vascular disorder. To the best of our knowledge, only 11 cases have been reported. It can be confused with early patch stage Kaposi's sarcoma and should be differentiated. We report a first case of targetoid hemosiderotic hemangioma in Taiwan and the literature is reviewed.
