Nai-Jen Hsu, Jauh-Jyh Hurng, Tsu-Chyang Chen
Dermatol Sinica 15: 132-136, 1997

An 82-year-old male patient developed pemphigus foliaceus at the age of 80 yeas. He was well controlled with systemic and topical steroid agents. About one month ago, diffuse pruritic erythematous scaly papules and patches first developed on the face and then spread to neck, nuchal area and bilateral ear helices. 10% KOH preparation of multiple skin scraping revealed Demodex folliculorum. Histopathological examination revealed Demodex mites in the hair follicles. The skin lesions were cleared after treatment with 2.5% sulfur ointment.
