Mucinous carcinoma is a rather rare primary neoplasm of the skin. We report a case of mucinous carcinoma of the skin in a 61-year-old otherwise healthy man, who presented with a bean-sized asubcutaneous nodule without overlying skin change on the left cheek. He had an excision at other hospital and received a wide excision again at our hospital because the tumor extended to the surgical margin. The pathology of the excised specimen showed a characteristic histopathologic feature of mucinous carcinoma. No evidence of recurrence or metastasis was observed 10 months after the second surgery. Because of the metastatic potential, the primary mucinous carcinoma of the skin should always be considered in the differential diagnosis of the subcutaneous nodule on the face.
