Treatment of a Plantar Wart Using Intralesional Injection of Interferonα-2b
Shih-Hung Lee, Heng-Leong Chan
Dermatol Sinica 17: 339-342, 1999

The treatment of plantar warts is difficult and often frustrating. The existence of multiple treatment modalities reflects the fact that none is uniformly effective or directly antiviral. Interferon has been effective in treating warts. We report a case with recalcitrant plantar wart who received twice-weekly intralesional injection of interferon α-2b. Clinical remission was reached in 5 weeks. We have followed up the patient for 4 months, no recurrence is noted.
