Recognition of the characteristic cutaneous lesions of disseminated candidiasis may allow early diagnosis and treatment of this often fatal fungal infection. This report discussed three leukemic patients with cutaneous manifestations of disseminated candidiasis due to Candida tropicalis. Single or multiple erythematous papulonodules with a purpuric center were seen on the trunk and 4 extremities. In most reported cases of disseminated candidiasis with skin lesions, the diagnosis can be confirmed by histopathologic examination, touch preparation of a skin biopsy, or fine needle aspiration of the suspected abscess, before obtaining the culture results.
