Superficial Acral Fibromyxoma
Yu-Lin Chang Hon-Ru Yu Ming-Tuo Chuan Yih-Yiing Wu
Dermatol Sinica 20: 248-252, 2002

A 33-year-old male had suffered from one mildly tender dome-shaped protruding mass measuring 0.8x0.8x0.5cm in size over the tip of the right index finger for about 3 months. Histopathologically, the dermis showed loose storiform arrangement of collagen bundles in a myxoid matrix, with spindled or stellate-shaped fibroblast-like cells, moderately accentuated vasculature and an increased number of mast cells. The overlying epidermis revealed hyperkeratosis and acanthosis. The diagnosis of superficial acral fibromyxoma was made by the clinical and histopathological features, together with the immunostaining results.
